Ventress insisted on working alone until she found an unlikely partner on Pantora: the maverick Jedi , who had been sent by the Jedi Council to assassinate Count Dooku. Ventress joined Vos in hopes of destroying Dooku, but grew to love the Jedi. On Ventress’s homeworld of Dathomir, Vos participated in Nightsister rituals and opened himself to the powers of the dark side to complete his quest. But through their connection, Ventress found herself coping with feelings she’d thought she’d purged from herself: love, compassion and selflessness. Ultimately, Ventress sacrificed herself to save Quinlan’s life, taking the brunt of Dooku’s Force lightning during their final confrontation. But that wasn’t the end of Asajj’s story… When a group of elite clones started asking questions about M-count in the years after Order 66 wiped most of the Jedi Order out of existence, Ventress was called upon by to lend her unique expertise. took a liking to the bounty hunter despite being deemed an “odd little clone.” And despite a tumultuous introduction with the brothers of Clone Force 99, Ventress agreed to test Omega to see if she had a natural proclivity toward the Force. However, In hiding from the new regime, Tech's prowess was invaluable to the members of the Bad Batch and their allies. As became prevalent, Tech used his abilities to create the proper documentation for and his family to help get the former clone and his kin to safety. Although Tech tried to warn his brothers about the inhibitor chip implanted in each of their brains -- a failsafe created to turn rogues into mindlessly compliant soldiers -- it wasn't until Captain Rex tracked them down on that the others fully understood the danger the chip posed. Ultimately, the chips were removed from Tech and the rest of the Bad Batch on The power surge in the Jedi Cruiser's medical bay, however, attracted the Scrapper Guild and the activity was reported to the Empire, bringing Crosshair and his new troopers to their door. The power Tech restored for the surgeries was turned against them as the Empire first used cannons then the engine bay to try to eliminate Clone Force 99. But Tech and his squad escaped, and ultimately ended up back on their homeworld of Kamino. Together with Crosshair, they witnessed the planet's destruction by the order of Vice Admiral Rampart and his Star Destroyers. The Bad Batch were presumed dead, but secretly survived, leaving Crosshair behind when he refused to join them once more. Several months after the disaster on , Tech and Clone Force 99 continued to work missions for Cid. They hunted for treasure at Dooku's castle on and took on the dangerous delivery of forged chain codes to the Vanguard Axis, as well as working security detail on Safa Toma, where Tech ended up entering the riot races after Cid's droid, TAY-0, was destroyed in a wipe-out. One desperate mission took Clone Force 99 to the Empire's stronghold, the former Republic capital of Coruscant. There, the Batch infiltrated Vice Admiral Rampart's docked Star Destroyer in search of valuable records that would prove it was the Empire that ordered the destruction of Kamino. Tech struggled with navigating his squad’s emotions following Echo’s departure to join Captain Rex on a mission, but in time he learned to help Omega as she grappled with the constant change unfolding around them. Settling on , Tech acted as Omega’s flight instructor and became close with the treasure hunter . But the respite was brief. After receiving a coded transmission from Crosshair warning of the Empire’s continued interest in Clone Force 99 and data showing he was being held prisoner, the squad made a plan to infiltrate an Imperial summit seeking intel on the Advanced Science Division. , their plans went awry as rebel operative detonated explosives around the Tarkin family compound, trapping the Batch on the rail line. Tech successfully rebooted the power to their connected cable cars, but enemy fire threatened to pull both cars from the tracks. Tech was left dangling perilously from a repelling cable. Assessing the situation, he arrived at only one logical conclusion: to execute Plan 99. Sacrificing himself and severing the connection between the cable cars, Tech plummeted out of sight while the car carrying Wrecker, Hunter, Echo, and Omega returned to the tracks.

Later, after capturing Hunter and taking him to lockup on Kamino, Crosshair lured the rest of Clone Force 99 to his aid. But the Empire had other plans. Under strict orders from , Crosshair and the depot's last surviving clone, , ventured off into the cold on an ill-fated mission to recover cargo stolen by raiders. Returning to the depot without the cargo, Crosshair came to the grim realization that the clones of Barton IV had all given their lives protecting stormtrooper armor intended for their conscripted replacements. After Nolan refused to allow medical attention that could save Mayday's life, Crosshair took matters into his own hands and fired on his superior officer. Imprisoned for his treason, Crosshair was arrested and sent to the Empire’s secret . Although he managed to get an urgent message relayed to his squad, Crosshair’s resolve quickly crumbled. Subject to intense medical testing alongside countless other clones, Crosshair remained at the mercy of for many months, becoming more defeated with each passing day. When Omega first proposed her dreams of escape, Crosshair belligerently tried to convince her that he was a lost cause who would escape without her if given the chance. But Omega refused to give up hope, seeing through Crosshair’s tough exterior and securing the datapad that led them to freedom through the lurca hound tunnels. In a stolen shuttle, they escaped first to Lau then to the moon of Ryloth for a tense reunion with the remaining members of Clone Force 99: Hunter and Wrecker. In time, Crosshair and his brothers began mending their fractured relationship. But other clones, like the squad stationed on Teth working with Captain Rex, were less forgiving of Crosshair’s past infractions. And the experimentation on Tantiss continued to haunt him as he grappled with a tremor in his right hand that made it nearly impossible to continue his career as a sharpshooter.

Imprisoned on Mount Tantiss, Omega succeeded in locating Crosshair, but could do little to help her brother or herself. Instead, she returned to a life not unlike the one she had known on Kamino, assisting working on secret medical experimentation, a prisoner of the Empire. But Omega was not one to give up easily. Over her months of captivity, she fashioned a tooka from straw, befriended a lurca hound nicknamed , and tried to convince her brother, Crosshair, that escape was possible. After freeing the hound, Omega and Crosshair soon followed, escaping the secure facility with help from Nala Se’s datapad and a dire warning. After crash-landing on Lau in a stolen Imperial shuttle, Omega and Crosshair procured a second stolen vessel in a fire-fight with the Empire and succeeded in reuniting with Hunter and Wrecker on Ryloth’s moon. But although she was back safe among her brothers, the Empire already had a sample of her blood, and data that made her a high-value target for Dr. Hemlock.
